Fluke Networks NetFlow Tracker
Product Summary
NetFlow Tracker harnesses flow information from Cisco IOS NetFlow, and flow standards from several other vendors, to give users detailed network traffic insight without the use of probes or appliances. Finally, many critical management questions about the network become easy to answer:
- Exactly what makes up my network traffic?
- Who are the users?
- What applications are they using?
- Who and what are consuming the bandwidth?
- Are there worms and viruses in my network, where are they, where did they come from, and where are they going?
- How is quality of service working?
- Are network usage policies being followed?
Key Benefits
- All the network, all the records, all the fields - all the time
- NetFlow built-in to most Cisco routers and managed switches and easily enabled
- All data conversations captured with per-minute resolution
- Data storage and archiving up to 999 years
- Delivers unmatched network forensics, troubleshooting and reporting capabilities
- Multicast Support
- Detailed network traffic visibility without probes or appliances
- Traffic identification by deep packet inspection
- Critical tool for today’s VOIP/IP Telephony and MPLS deployments
Regardless of network design (Frame Relay, Multi-protocol Label Switching, and so on.) NetFlow Tracker captures information on all network conversations passing through the interfaces of the supported routers and switches.
NetFlow Tracker generates unique databases that collect, store, and present valuable usage-based network data reports. In Version 2 of NetFlow Tracker, that reporting and storage capability has been greatly enhanced with the addition of the Advanced Services Module, which now allows data to be stored for up to 999 years.
Key Features of NetFlow Tracker
- Real-time database – every network flow recorded, per minute, up to the last minute with milli-second resolution
- Long-term databases - layered long-term historical reports in multiple time frames and time slices
- Extended reporting periods – The real-time data can be stored over extended periods of time (up to 14 days). The long-term database can be configured to store information for several years
- Secure integration with any third party management product, using URLs
- Ability to filter all reports based on any field stored in NetFlow record
- Threshold alerting to enable detection of a specific defined threat
- Profile alerting to detect new threats; so alerts can be generated when the profile of the network traffic changes from the normal baseline
- Reports can be tailored to suit specific audiences, e.g. real-time operations vs. capacity planning
- Utilises existing Cisco/other infrastructure; NetFlow Tracker is a software-only solution that requires no additional hardware probes
